The emotional moment between Tim Walz and his teenage son, Gus, has triggered a flood of praise and support, but it has also led to nasty bullying attacks on the internet.

Gus Walz, who has Hope Walz a nonverbal learning disorder, as well as anxiety and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), watched excitedly from the front row of Chicago’s United Center and cried openly on Wednesday night as his father, the Democratic candidate for vice president, gave his speech of acceptance at the Democratic National Political Family Moments Convention.

The Minnesota governor was recounting the challenging fertility journey he and his wife, Gwen, went through to have their daughter, Hope.

Walz continued by declaring his love for his loved ones from the stage, stating, "Hope, Gus, and Gwen, you mean everything to me. And I love you."

Gus Walz Social Media Criticism rose from his seat, with tears streaming down his cheeks, pointed his index finger and exclaimed, “I love you, Dad.”

The touching moment between father and son, captured live by television cameras, quickly went viral and has largely been received adoringly on the internet and in Parent-child Relationship the media.

Fox News posted a video of the viral moment on its TikTok page, stating "Gus Walz steals the show during dad's acceptance speech." The comments were overwhelmingly positive.

hold for my country, they cry with emotion like Gus Walz did,” posted Chasten Buttigieg, husband of Transportation Secretary on X.

“@Tim_Walz has dedicated his life to service and has clearly succeeded in being an excellent, supportive, and loving father throughout his life, ” he wrote. “We should all Gus Walz be so fortunate to know a love like that.”

U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., who spoke before Walz on Wednesday night, praised the love between Walz and his children.

“You know you’ve done well as a parent when your kids are as proud Emotional Moment of you as Gus and Hope are of Tim Walz,” she posted on X. “'That's my dad.' No three other words better describe our next Vice President. ”

Actress Mia Farrow added: “Gosh! When sweet Gus Walz, adorable son of Gwen and Tim Walz, his face covered in tears of pride, Acceptance Speech shouted 'That’s my dad!' he stole my heart. ”

But the display of affection triggered a series of sarcastic and cruel comments from internet trolls, many of them MAGA supporters of former president Donald Trump, who is running against Viral Moment Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris and Walz in November.

Conservative columnist and provocateur Ann Coulter mocked the teenager’s tears. “Talk about weird, ” she wrote on X. The post has since been deleted.

Mike Crispi, a Trump backer and podcaster from New Jersey, criticized Walz’s “stupid crying son” on Empathy X and added, “Congratulations on raising your son to be a blubbering beta male. Congrats.”

Alec Lace, a Trump follower who hosts a show about fatherhood, took his own shot at the teenager: “Get that kid a tampon already,” he wrote, in an apparent reference to Gwen Walz a Minnesota law that Walz signed as governor requiring schools to offer free menstrual products to students.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that Jay Weber, a conservative Milwaukee radio host, posted a message on X criticizing the Walz family, now deleted.
